Once upon a time we had simple rubber plugs on a chain to keep water in the basin. Now you need to press the chrome plug bit in the bottom of the basin.
To clear any blockage the chrome bit can be unscrewed for cleaning.

We spend a long time trying to find a shower caddy that looked good and didn't require any drilling into the nice, tidy bathroom tiles.
